percentile is the score of a student
factored by the average first scores of all the students for the last 3 years.
and then the ssat puts a percentage on it
Let say student gets 790 in one test for math
for the last 3 years, the top 1% of the students are getting 785 average, then the student will have 99 percentile.
If the student got 780, and the average of the top 1% of students is 785 and top 2 percentage is 775, then the student will be 98 percentile
Note this is not percentage but percentile
Percentile means % above the percentage of 100 percentage of students
