Our son Ben was struggling at his previous state school and his results were not great. After completing his GCSEs, he joined St Andrews College Cambridge for his A-Levels and the transformation has been remarkable. From the very beginning, the teachers provided unwavering support and encouragement, offering plenty of catch-up sessions and taking genuine care in helping him rebuild his confidence. Ben gradually became more outgoing, made many positive friends, and truly started to enjoy learning again. To our surprise and delight, he went on to achieve four A grades at A-Level* and has now progressed to Imperial College London to study Theoretical Physics. We are incredibly grateful to the caring and dedicated teachers at St Andrews for their commitment and guidance. They not only helped Ben excel academically but also gave him the confidence and resilience to succeed.

Our daughter received CDU in her Year 13 results at her local state school, and we were devastated. We initially planned for her to repeat Year 13 at St Andrews College, Cambridge, but after a very detailed and thoughtful conversation, the staff recommended that she join the Engineering Foundation programme instead. They explained that this pathway is internally assessed, which meant there was no risk of final exam surprises, and it would give her a strong route into top universities. This advice turned out to be absolutely right. Our daughter was so much happier after transferring to St Andrews. With the support and guidance of the incredibly knowledgeable and responsible staff, she went on to receive offers from five Russell Group universities and successfully met all the conditions. We are truly grateful that we chose St Andrews—it was the best decision for our daughter’s future, and we cannot thank the team enough for their professionalism, care, and insight.
