Founded in 1966 by Mathilde and Jean Wegmüller, Chantemerle is a private, international boarding school located in the French part of Switzerland. Our school welcomes Swiss and international students ages 6 to 18 for the school year as well as for summer and winter camps. From primary school to high school, our Swiss pathway prepares for the Swiss Federal Matura diploma. The Matura gives automatic entry into highly reputable Swiss universities and engineering schools (EPFL/ETH), that are also known for their affordability. The Matura is also highly regarded in the USA and internationally. Foreign students who are beginners in French can easily join the Swiss pathway after having completed our intensive one-year French language immersion. The Ecole d’Humanité is the only school of its kind in Europe. We are a progressive boarding school with a truly holistic approach to education, offering university preparatory education in English and German.
