School Overview

Running River is dedicated to meaningful, real life, experiential and contemplative education. Children learn how to learn, and are guided in pursuing their interests and in building a community that works and learns together. We are a small school that integrates academics around project based learning, and that is able to balance EVERY aspect of education: academics, the Arts, contemplative practices, nourishing a foundation for life long health (physical fitness and homemade organic lunches),teaching life skills, spending weekly extended time in nature, and a strong emphasis on communication and social skill building. We build community through parent involvement and school service projects both locally and globally.
