School Overview

There can be a misnomer in education of a choice between nurture and high performance, but headteacher, Kelly Gray, knows the former is what leads to the latter!

Prospect House goes proudly beyond the 11+; from romps on nearby Putney Heath and critical thinking to a strong musical tradition and entrepreneurship – even rowing is in the pipeline. Drama lessons ensure children feel equipped to take their space in the world. Wellbeing check-ins build emotional intelligence and grit. Truly individualised lessons, including scholarship-style pathways foster a genuine bespoke education for each child.

Our vision is to empower every child to strive for excellence. To discover and utilise their strengths, to develop empathy to relate to others with compassion and understanding, and to foster a lifetime love to learning through engaging with all aspects of school life. This ethos is reflected in our five core school values of kindness, resilience, community, respect and aspiration.

Dynamic and inspirational staff offer over 40 clubs each term, from judo and coding to DIY and gardening. All children perform each year in class assemblies, theatre productions and musical concerts. Residential school trips for Years 3 – 6 include a ski trip plus lots of day trips for all ages.

You are warmly welcomed to experience the Prospect Pulse: a vibrant culture that embodies commitment to excellence and innovation.

The school's proximity, size, and ethos, along with its outstanding reputation within the community, make it truly special. Its greatest strengths lie in its excellent pastoral care, robust learning support, diverse extracurricular clubs, and a highly engaged staff, fostering a supportive environment for parents and students alike. Mrs Gray brings both expertise and empathy. As a mother herself, she brings an unmatched level of relatability. Being a smaller school, a community, every teacher knows all children not only by their name, their siblings that go to the same school and their families. Also their strengths, their character, their confidence in approaching different aspects of a pupil’s life and work and they can encourage and offer support adjusted to their individual needs. Prospect House was recommended to us by other parents before our eldest child started in reception and the school has been all that I was hoping for and then some.

There is a wonderful ethos, warmth, and positivity, a balanced, holistic approach, academic rigor in education, even though entry is non-selective, a brilliant parent community, an enviable location next to open green fields, sports, and artistic exposure. The teachers are so loving to all the kids, they always see the best in them and talk about them with such enthusiasm, it melts my heart every time I pop into the school, from small chats to formal parents' evenings. My kids constantly felt the same way as I did – so much support and encouragement, which made them believe they could fly, as the school taught them how to. In the end, both of my kids completed the 11+ with amazing results, far above the level they entered the school with, and what I could have hoped for them. We have no regrets and couldn’t have wished for better for them (especially when we chose the school from overseas in a rush, and it was a true gem we never could have wished for!).
