School Overview

Minnick provides services for children ages 5 to 22 and observes a 3 to 1 student/staff ratio. Minnick Education Centers grew out of a need to educate the children of the Lutheran Children's Home of the South, a growing number of whom had emotional and academic challenges arising from abuse and neglect. At Minnick Education Centers, we develop an individual teaching program for each child that takes into account his or her unique learning characteristics. Through intensive one-on-one teaching, group instruction, and other techniques, we help children build academic and social skills as well as assist families in helping their children apply these skills from school to home and other environments.
