St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School is an Episcopal boarding and day school for girls and boys in grades 6 through 12, founded in 1868. SAS nestles atop the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in Sewanee, Tennessee on 550 acres, located just 1.5 hours from Nashville, Tennessee and 2.5 hours from Atlanta, Georgia. Our rigorous academic program offers a superior college preparatory experience based in the liberal arts. Our ELL program prepares students from all over the world to advance English language skills in a small group or one on one setting.

Each year, our students gain the opportunity to attend top R1 universities like Ohio State, Purdue, and the University of Tennessee; students will also consider opportunities at top 10 national liberal arts colleges such as Williams College, Macalester College, Middlebury College, and Tufts University, as well as Ivy league schools such as Yale University, Dartmouth College, and more.

Our campus rests right next door to Sewanee: the University of the South, a top 50 liberal arts college. Typically, 35% of our graduating class will have attended classes at Sewanee during their junior and senior years at no extra cost to our families. These scholars graduate from SAS with a college transcript from Sewanee; this transcript will be applied for credit to any college or university in the United States. Few college preparatory schools can offer such an opportunity.

SAS offers a diverse student population representing over 15 countries in a typical year. Students thrive in our small classes, a welcoming and warm community, and the opportunity to explore our outdoor programming including competitive mountain biking, rock climbing, and trail exploration right here on our campus. We offer a broad and quality sports program, as well as superb performing arts and studio arts.

Students take advantage of our close proximity to some of the best cities in the U.S, routinely taking trips to Nashville (1.5 hrs), Atlanta (2.5 hrs), and Chattanooga (40 mins). Our pastoral location is extremely safe and welcoming, offering students the freedom to explore our beautiful mountain-top community.
