The Thorne preschool at Bryn Mawr College is a play-based program where children grow and learn through active exploration, problem solving, and socialization. Experienced teachers, graduate students from the Department of Psychology, and interested undergraduates facilitate the children's classroom experiences.
The Thorne kindergarten (located on the campus of Haverford College) balances children's choices of activities with developmentally appropriate, teacher-directed, instructional time.
