Thomas Jefferson School (TJ) is an internationally respected, coed day and boarding school for grades 7–12. Since 1946, TJ has been a greenhouse for true intellectual growth. We are still accepting boarding applications for grades 7-12. While 100 is our average, we have certainly accepted a number of students with scores of 90. I hope you will apply!

As a small school, we are, in my opinion unfairly impacted by college placement rates. Proportionally speaking, if we send (for example) 25% of our graduating class to Ivy League Schools, that only translates to 4 students. A larger school may have a higher number of attendees but a lower proportion.

Hello! At TJ, we accept the SAO common application. This application consists of: Student Biographical Information, Parent Statement, Student Essays, Math Teacher Recommendation, English Teacher Recommendation, Principal Recommendation, and school records/transcripts. Additionally, we also require the SSAT, TOEFL and a skype interview. The average SSAT score for admitted students is 2008 and the average TOEFL score of admitted students is 100. We do not have a minimum score for entrance as we prefer to look at the whole student. We hope you will apply!
