Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS) is located in Maryland, 16 miles north of Washington DC. We have over 600-day students and 40 boarding students living on our campus; Sandy Spring Friends School's unique location allows students to enjoy the benefits of living near a large city while still experiencing the safety of a rural campus. Our international students enjoy mid-week excursions and a robust weekend schedule. SSFS offers a college-preparatory curriculum, including 14 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. SSFS. has a competitive athletic program with over 10 Varsity sports options and over 30 teams in total. In the 2022-23 school year, SSFS teams won over 15 championships! Sandy Spring Friends School believes every student should have a creative outlet. Our Arts program features 20 class offerings in the performing, visual, or digital arts. SSFS is a Quaker school that values each person and seeks to nurture personal and social responsibility. Our graduates have gone on to noable universities such as Cornell, NYU, and UPenn.
